Board seat and advisory
Board seat and advisory is a continuing non-executive engagement with an acquired B2B SaaS company, running twelve months or longer. It covers quarterly board attendance and a monthly call with the CEO, and exists to keep a commercial strategy on course after the engagement that produced it has ended. The people who wrote the plan stay in the room while it is executed.
A standing seat rather than a project. Continuity is the deliverable.
What’s involved
- A non-executive board seat with a commercial remit.
- Quarterly board attendance, with a written commercial read ahead of each meeting rather than a verbal update inside it.
- A monthly call with the CEO, on the decisions that will not wait for a board date.
- Continuity on the strategy: whether what was agreed is being done, whether it is working, and what should change if it is not.
- Challenge on the commercial numbers, from someone who knows what was promised in diligence and can say whether it is happening.
Who this is for
- You have completed a hundred day engagement and want the plan held to account rather than filed.
- You hold for a decade and need commercial oversight that spans more than one CEO’s tenure.
- Your board has financial and legal depth and no operator who has carried a commercial number in software.
- You are a small team owning several companies and cannot be close enough to any one of them.
- The commercial strategy is sound and the risk is quietly drifting off it over four quarters.
What it costs
- Fee
- from EUR 7,500 per month
- Duration
- 12 months minimum
Fixed fee, fixed timeline, agreed before work starts. Fees are never contingent on a transaction closing, because the entire value of this work is that it has no stake in the answer. Scope is set on a first call. Ranges reflect company size, geographies and interview volume.
